TripAdvisor community has voted Kathmandu as one of the world’s 25 best destinations under their ‘2016 Travelers’ Choice Awards’. Kathmandu comes in at 23rd position, before Sydney and Budapest.

TripAdvisor used an algorithm that determined the list based on the booking interest from its users, and quantity and quality of reviews for hotels, eateries and tourist attractions, gathered over the past year.

The website’s ‘Top rated things to do’ in Kathmandu are Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa and Kopan Monastery.

London has been voted as the most favorite destination before Istanbul and Marrakech. Other cities to appear on the list are Paris, Siem Reap, Prague, Rome, Hanoi, New York, Ubud, Barcelona, Lisbon, Dubai, St. Petersburg, Bangkok, Amsterdam, Buenos Aires, Hong Kong, Playa del Carmen, Cape Town and Cusco.

Nepal has been featured on several ‘Top Destination lists’ for 2016. TripAdvisor community’s vote of confidence is sure to boost the morale of tourism entrepreneurs in Nepal.
